The Junior English Programme

ETC can accept individual junior students when there are other junior students booked to study at the college.  The Individual Junior English Programme is designed for students who are not part of a group.  Please check with the Principal to be sure that we can accept a single junior student (and integrate him or her with the other junior students).

Maximum course duration: 3 weeks.

Included in the programme:

• 20 group lessons (=15 hours) of General English per week.
  Lessons are generally run in the mornings (from 09.00 hours until 12.30 hours), but we cannot guarantee this timetable during busy periods.  Books and other study materials are included in the course fees.
   
• Airport transfer (Return) between London Heathrow / Gatwick - Bournemouth - London Heathrow / Gatwick.  A supplement may be payable if students arrive at a different UK airport.  Clients will be picked up from the airport and taken directly to their accommodation. On return, clients will be picked up from their accommodation and taken to the departures area of the airport.  Waiting charges: after the first hour, you will be charged £25 per hour for any delays.  This is a waiting charge to cover the cost of parking and the driver’s time.
   
• Shared host family accommodation – where available.  If shared accommodation is not available, or if the student requests single accommodation, there will be a £10 per week supplement payable.  Please enquire at the time of booking.  Lunches are provided by the host family at weekends only - weekday lunches are provided at the college cafe.  Accommodation is provided from Sunday to Saturday (inclusive).  If students require a special diet (eg. no wheat, no pork, no dairy, etc), a supplement of £10 is payable per
  week.
   
•  Door-to-door transportation (between the student's accommodation and the school).
   
• 1 full day excursion per week.
   
• 5 afternoon sports and / or social activities per week (eg. football, volleyball, crazy games, DVD show, quiz night, treasure hunt).


• Lunches from Monday to Friday at the college cafe.
   
• The services of an ETC Activities Organiser for all scheduled ETC activities.
   
• Criminal Records Bureau check on all host families accommodating Junior students.


• Identity card (students should please supply at least 2 passport photos), Bournemouth Map and Welcome Pack.
   
• Academic and welfare counselling: Information, help and advice in personal and academic matters (including arrangement of emergency medical treatment as provided by the British National Health Service, if this is necessary).
   
• Initial Placement Test and end of course Certificate.
   

Fees for Individual Junior Students

Enrolment Fee: £100 (payable once only).
This fee will be retained if a student fails to obtain a visa to study in the UK).

Please note that insurance is NOT included in these fees.  This is available at extra cost, as follows:

Insurance: From £10 per week.  Please ask for an up-to-date price, as this figure is subject to change.  Student insurance is arranged by Endsleigh Insurance Services.  Students are strongly advised to arrange insurance to cover personal possessions, money, passport, fee reimbursement, cancellation, personal liability, medical and personal injury.

Extra excursions / activities:
Fees depend on the destination and activity type.  To avoid disappointment, excursions should be booked in advance.  Please ask for further information.  You will find that ETC often arranges half-day and full-day trips (usually at weekends) to places of cultural interest. Visits to London, Windsor, Salisbury and Stonehenge, Bath and the Isle of Wight are very popular with our students. The ETC social programme helps you to get to know students and members of staff, gives you the chance to practise and consolidate your English and opens the door to British culture and entertainment.

Typical cost per full-day excursion: £38.
Typical cost per half-day excursion: £26.
